Summer Activities for Seniors
If you are looking for senior-friendly events and attractions within Clark County this summer, you are in luck! Vancouver is home to a wide array of events, both indoors and out, and many of them budget-friendly. Here are some of the highlights of Clark County’s summer lineup:
Trapedero II at Firstenburg Community Center
When: Monday-Friday 8am – 4pm
Named after the Trapedero Club, a Parks & Recreation social club for teens that began in the mid-1940s, the modern version of Trapedero is located on the first floor of Firstenburg Community Center.
Playing bingo? Please bring a white elephant gift in exchange for a bingo card. Call ahead before attending either bridge club. Bring your own scissors and adhesive for paper crafts. A $2 club fee (per session) applies to all clubs. Find out more here.
Luepke Senior Center
When: Monday – Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Right next to the Marshall Community Center, the Luepke Senior Center features a paperback lending library and computer lab. Seniors will find a variety of specialty dances, classes, bingo, and community presentations happening here. If playing bingo, please bring a white elephant gift in exchange for a bingo card or a can of food on Fridays. Call ahead before attending either bridge club. 50+ Travel Program
The City of Vancouver offer people over the age of 50 affordable group travel. These day-long trips explore attractions, events, festivals, cultural activities and destinations near and far with varied levels of difficulty. First Friday Downtown
When: August 3rd (and ongoing throughout the year) 5-9 pm
Where: Downtown Vancouver and Participating Merchants
All year round on the first Friday of every month, be sure to check out downtown Vancouver, where shops and galleries comes alive with art and music, and participating merchants and restaurants stay open late with special events.
